Sitanadi Wildlife Sanctuary, spread over 556 sq. km, is one of Chhattisgarh’s most biodiverse protected areas. Named after the Sitanadi River, which originates within it, the sanctuary is covered with dense teak, sal, bamboo, and mixed deciduous forests — home to tigers, leopards, wild dogs, bears, bison, and over 175 bird species.
