धमतरी का निकटतम हवाई अड्डा स्वामी विवेकानंद एयरपोर्ट, रायपुर है, जो लगभग 80 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित है। रायपुर से दिल्ली, मुंबई, कोलकाता और बेंगलुरु जैसे प्रमुख शहरों के लिए नियमित उड़ानें उपलब्ध हैं।

धमतरी रेल लाइनों से अच्छी तरह जुड़ा हुआ है और यहाँ से प्रतिदिन कई ट्रेनें गुजरती हैं। शहर का सबसे नज़दीकी रेलवे स्टेशन धमतरी रेलवे स्टेशन है, जो धमतरी शहर के केंद्र से 2.3 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है।

धमतरी सड़क मार्ग से अच्छी तरह से जुड़ा हुआ है। रायपुर और आसपास के शहरों से नियमित बसें, टैक्सी और कैब्स उपलब्ध हैं। रायपुर से धमतरी की यात्रा राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग 30 (NH-30) से लगभग 2 घंटे में पूरी की जा सकती है।
